Ten good ideas to drive your motorcycle safer

When good weather arrives, motorcycle use increases, and with it, the number of accidents. Up to 40% of motorcycle accidents occur during the summer. These ten measures will help you circulate safely to avoid any mishap:
-Choose appropriate clothing and footwear. Flip flops are not an option, nor are shorts. If you are traveling on the road, choose a suitable jacket and pants and wear boots. Reflective equipment will make you more visible to other drivers. Of course, remember to put on gloves.
-Make sure your motorcycle helmet is approved and don't forget to put it on. Although they are hotter, closed helmets will always be safer.
-Check that your motorcycle works well, check the tires, the condition of the brakes and the chain tension.
-Plan your route in advance and choose the less traveled roads when possible, as in summer there is always more traffic.
-Remember to rest from time to time if the journey is long. High temperatures can exhaust you and, as much as possible, avoid driving during the middle hours of the day, as that is when the heat is most intense.
-Check that your luggage (if you are carrying it) is well secured.
-Respect the speed limits and the appropriate safety distance, as it will allow you to act more quickly in the event of any unforeseen event and avoid accidents.
-If you have drunk, do not drive. We all know that alcohol consumption increases in summer, but don't let it take its toll on you.
-Includes devices such as the Smart Bike, which will warn you about a possible fall that, if it occurs, will connect via satellite with an Alarm Receiving Center sending the coordinates of the accident.
-Finally, stay hydrated even during the journey. Drink water even if you are not thirsty, during this time of year getting dehydrated is easier than it seems. A dehydrated driver loses the ability to concentrate and will react more slowly to a stimulus.
Follow these recommendations and you will feel safer on the road. Don't forget that a small mistake on a motorcycle can end in disaster. Protecting yourself is in your hands.
